SKY HD Box keeps playing up

Hi. Almost everyday now my SKY box turns on but comes up with a message saying 'sky hd this display does not support hdcp', and will not work or turn off. So I have to unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in and after a couple of minutes it works fine. Would this be cured if I did a complete system reset? I realise I will lose all my saved recordings. Or do I need a new HDMI Cable?

what do sky advise - have you asked them?

Sorry but I'd rather watch paint dry than phone them up and hold on for half an hour. Plus because I use the Post Office for my phone, 0845 numbers are charged at a higher premium. I'm sure I'm not the only whose had this problem on this site.

Sorry Big - I don't have Sky - can't afford it - so thought you had a landline - but ABs link looks good

Using the component connections may cure this if you keep getting the problem. You will still get HD res.
