One proposal (which I expect will happen) is that BBC2 will be showing the BBC News Channel until 7pm, getting rid of all the programmes that are currently shown now.

Anything you'd miss or be happy to be rid of?

Personally, anything is preferable to the "tat in the attic", "I can't be bothered to go to the estate agents" or "throw some paint over there" shows. And Pointless would be a better candidate for transfer to BBC1 than Eggheads.

(oops, a bit of tautology in the first sentence)
Since everyone will soon have access to the BBC news channel via digital, what is the point?

They might aswell bring back the test card.

Those trade test transmissions of short films (the ones to demonstrate new-fangled colour tv) in the 1970s would be good.
why stop there? There are other programmes on BBC1 that could go to save cash

Eastenders Casualty for example......but soap fans tell me the Beeb make money by selling these worldwide (dont know who would want them lol)
I wonder has The Beeb ever considered tasteful advertisements between programmes? That might be one way to go.
Apart from PM's questions on Wednesday there's not much I'd miss on daytime television.
