That seems like a pretty solid opinion to change your mind over a couple of minutes later.

This may be why you are finding that people are not taking you as seriously as you want them to.

In terms of the op, I don't think it's as simple as just using the theory and eye for an eye.

I have always thought no-one has the right to take another's life. Take your own if you wish but not others. Unfortunately I also believe in the death sentence for murderers which would tend to be the opposite of my first sentence. Very difficult.

i think prendy91 has shown commendable honesty and maturity in deciding to ammend his opinion after some input from others on his thread.

We are perhaps developing an assessment of prendy based on his 'Muslim' thread - which may give an inaccureate impression of his nature.

Yes he has a tendency to fire off passionate and provocative posts without perhaps thinking them through - but that is the nature of yong people who have a very highly developed sense of right and wrong, and tend to reach conclusions very quickly.

He is not the first person to ammend an opinion after input on the AB - I have done so myself on several occasions - without the caveat of youth to excuse some of my impassioned ranting!

Good for you prendy - I am impressed, and if your mature attitude continues, i may even change my mind about you calling me 'mate'!

yes yesterdays post was a post in which i have looked at both sides of the story...and still am of my own opinion....but when there is a case where i am blatently wrong then i will deffenatly back down.....
and i appreciate your input andy and was maybe to short because i didnt understand what you where saying exactly which was a fault of mine....

Well as most people know on this site I have posted about bringing the death penaly for years. However, in cases like this I am not so sure.

To loose your child or have them taken from you is very distressing and to some will certainly seem like the world has ended. If you want evidence of this just ask the thousands of fathers refused acces to their kids by liberal judges and lefty social workers.

I think this sort of thing shows we have failed as a society and therefore I would not advocate the death penalty, instead I woudl like to learn how we, as a society, can prevent this happening.

the word sick is perhaps not the best one to use here, as it has a kind of double meaning

for instance fred and rose west were undoubtedly extremely sick and did some very sick things...but they were not insane and knew what they were doing an did it with carefully planned meticulous intent

that is very different from a woman who has for instance say, post natal depression, is being abused and is in fear for her her kids safety and has eventually cracked, become delerious, hysterical and dellusional, and feels driven to commit a deseparate act whilst in the grip of this temporary insanity

both are clearly sick and have done sick things...but for very different reasons
