Camera batteries

I use a camera that takes AAA lithium batteries, these batteries are quite expensive £7 for 4. I need to take a lot of photos for my portfolio. Someone mentioned to me that I should take the batteries out when not in use as the batteries are still being drained even when the camera is switched off. Is this true???? Thanks

Well, it does seem that if you leave something for ages with the batteries in, they do go flat, so I can believe it's true.

Yes, that is right, as if you do not then the batteries will leak out and damage the camera. So do it.

Have you tried the camera with non-lithium ones? Standard rechargeable would make more sense if they work OK. Lithium can be got cheaper.

You're best bet (excluding lithium) would be high-capacity hybrid rechargeables- they come ready charged, can be recharged 500 to 1000 times and don't lose power when not being used. Go for the highest capacity you can find, that's the largest mAh figure.

I bought a set of Energiser 2000 mAh (AA) for use in our Sony compact which ate batteries. I put them in at Christmas and haven't had to cange them yet.
I'm sure they come in AAA too.
Well worth the initial outlay imho. :)
