do i have to fill in the national census?

I recently recieved my census copy from the office of national statistics.

Some of the questions seem very intrusive and it smacks of one of those sunday supplament offers of a free pen if you fill out a 5 page questionnaire telling them all about yourself and what you eat,drink,read,do for a living,weigh and your inside leg measurement...etc.

it does read like some marketing questionnaire, which has me thinking who this information will be shared with???.
I thought a census just counted how many people lived at the address it was posted to, not wanting to know what the individuals who live at the address go about their life.

Translates as ... "Can you understand, speak, read or write Welsh?"

As DT pointed out, the last answer "None of the above" ......how are you supposed to know that if you do not speak the lingo to begin with?

Aaaah, okay.

Maybe we should all find out how to write ...

"Yes, I speak Welsh very well."

... and write that as an answer for our English Q.17's.

"The Welsh language is enjoying a new revival as the latest census reveals that there are 55 million Welsh speakers in the UK", LOL.
