I have flown with RyanAir and they are fine as long as you accept them for what they are. I have small kids and you have to pay extra to board early. That said, other airlines now charge for all the extras too. RyanAir didn't look after their passengers very well when we had the 'ash cloud' crisis so unless they were cheapest by far, i wouldn't fly with them.

Ryanair is my favourite airline. As long as you take the trouble to read all of the information which is on their website (and/or in the flight confirmation details that they send to you) you'll know exactly what you'll have to pay (and which is likely to be far less than any other airline will charge).
Ryanair's boss, Michael O'Leary exemplifies my idea of what every businessman should be like. He doesn't try to pretend that the company's number one aim is to be nice to its customers. Instead, he openly admits that everything the company does in order to maximise its profits. In my opinion, any company which actually cares in any way whatsoever about either its staff or customers should be drummed out of business as quickly as possible. Profit should be the sole objective of any business and we, the public, should celebrate those companies which seek to achieve it.

Have to say in their defence we phoned up for a refund (ash cloud and bad weather) and it was in our a/c in days -no ifs buts maybes.
I have no qualms travelling with them -they dont advertise frills so we dont get them -we do get to our destination which a lot of airlines wont fly to due to supposed economic reasons.
Have to say when we flew to Dusseldorf in October we wrongly assumed we would be flying into Dusseldorf but we were closer to Koln -was still cheap though and the German rail service was excellent......

Do you know it grates a little when people moan about Ryanair. They are chea yes and charge alot if people dont read the t & c's and get things wrong but I have had no problems with them and am flying with them this year again.
I must admit I do think charging for the toilet is a joke but I have no idea if this would be done and if it were what would happen for children or pregnant women but to me its all down to cost and I always price up the budget airlines and go with the one that has the most convenient flight times for me and the lowest price, simple!

I've just booked a flight with them in May. I had a little grumble about the £30 charge to check a bag in the hold and a £20 charge to use my debit card to pay but then they were still the cheapest on offer. Ours is only a short flight so if we can't go that length of time without going to the loo then I think I have bigger problems.
