Is it just me - or an extra subtelty in the preamble - or does the answer (and length) of the clue at 16A belong to the light at 14A?

Like many of the preambles, it took a little thought to get my head around it. But the crossword clues are pretty straightforward (with one or two exceptions), and the completed grid can only be described as brilliant.
