These are cryptic clues and the answers have some sort of accent (grave) etc or hyphens.
3. Straightforward shot 5-5
20. First stage of Alpine glaciation begins in German, Uganda and New Zealand. 4
24. Slavonik mark containing itself - hack takes the point.
Thank you so much if you can help. These last few of 100 are driving me mad.
3 there's a billiards shot called a massé which I'm sure used to be referred to using a 2 word term (one of those words being massé) but I cant find a reference to that form anywhere
JMR27, you can letters with accents over them if you use the Alt key plus your numeric keypad. Hold down Alt, then enter number combinations thusly:
Alt + 129 = ü
Alt + 154 = Ü
Alt + 142 = Ä
Alt + 132 = ä
Alt + 137 = ë
Alt + 153 + Ö
Alt + 148 = ö
Alt + 128 = Ç
Alt + 135 = ç
Alt + 165 = Ñ
Alt + 164 = ñ
You can find many more characters and accents if you experiment with different number combinations.
Hi bookbinder and thanks for the info. Up till now I've only managed an acute by using Alt Gr + e (and that was thanks to Lie-in King). As you can perhaps tell, I know zilch about computers :o)
What`s the point? I`m stuck on the `significant order` -can anyone explain, please?
Chipolata, the Slavonic mark is Hacek with two "funny" marks you will have to look up.
I don`t think "masse curve" fits the clue, as it is anything but straightforward. I am stuck on that one, too. Gunz is correct for No.20
JMR27 Thanks, but the significant order relates to all 100 of the answers; you would have to do the quiz itself to appreciate my bewilderment. Think the compiler is CRUEL!
