please tell me this actually happened! it was a kids series on on a sunday afternoon, early  to mid 70's..i can remember it clearly but nobody else seems to!! am i mad...was i delusional...even at the tender age of 5?

It's Peppa Pig and they are currently showing it on Nick Jnr .. my son loves it!!
I think Peppa pig is fairly new, not sure it was around in the seventies.  Nina Bawden wrote a book called the peppermint pig, the date sounds about right, might they have done a tv adapt of it?

I don't recall ever actually watching it - it struck me as rather dull and worthy, but it's definitely real. It was on BBC in 1977. I know because my neighbour's daughter was in it - Anne Stallybrass.

I vaguely remember this as I've got the book and i still do have it somwhere in my bookcase.  I had a few books by Nina Bawden and most of her books were made into television series by the BBC - shw wrote Carrie's War as well which was redon a few years ago with Pauline Quirke as Hepzibah
