I want to be a teacher, but I have a reprimand for shoplifting
8 Answers
In 2009 when I was just 17 I was arrested for shoplifting and recieved a juevinile reprimand. It was the first and only time I have done anything like that and I am so glad I was caught as I realised how pathetic, naive, dishonest and ridiculously stupid it was. When I joined college, I was the only one from my school to join my college, and so I made a bad new group of friends who influenced me. I left that group immediatly after the incident. This ordeal has had such a derogatory effect on my life, I'm constatly feeling quilty, ashamed and I hate myself.
The problem is, my life ambition is to become a teacher and I am terrified I've ruined my chances.
Now I'm 18 I know it wont show on a standard CRB check but it will on an enhanced CRB which is what is needed for teaching.
I would be so grateful for any advice anyone could give especially if you are a police officer/ someone who knows someone in my situation or who has been my situation.
Thankyou.

that depends of course on what you took - if you walked out with a load of stereos after some elaborate scam then its a bit different that shoving a pen or mascara up your sleeve
just be ready to answer them if they ask about it...
