Into another WAR

So our fantastic government has now decided to have a "NO FLY ZONE" over Lybia, can they not get it into their THICK heads that the country has no money (so they say) we have No Aircraft Carriers, NO Aircraft, to many soldiers abroad fighting unwinable conflicts, ain't it time that the politicians are the first people who should do the hand to hand fighting, if that were the case there would not be any wars as they would refuse to go.

Couldn't agree more, how many have seen military service never mind hand to hand fighting?

We all know America can't wait to 'get in there', but why do we always have to follow them just like lap dogs?

A few weeks ago Obama made an announcement that the US has a special relationship with France, so why doesn't France go in with them?

United Nations or not I can see it being just like NATO, with the US and Britain in the thick of it and the other nations sitting in the background, why already Germany have abstained.

I remember when France didn`t want to get involved in the invasion of Iraq, the USA hated them for it and even took French Fries of the menu`s across the country, yet they were back in favour within a few years and they have "special" relations now.

Oh how I remember with pride & nostalgia how we traded with & fought together with our comrades in Australia,New Zealand,India,& all our other former colonial allies, I don't particularly want to be linked to the French & Germans or the Americans for that matter. For goodness sake let us keep out of Middle East problems & let the Arabs sort it.

If it was just us and the Septics I could perhaps sympathise with some of the views but it is not.

When the Govt try to cut the military we get whingers if we rty to use it we get whingers.

Many Abers give the impression that we are a philanthropic country........we give aid to underdeveloped countries, we give shelter, food and subsistence to immigrants, legal and otherwise, we give free of charge health care to any foreigner that falls ill in the UK...........we are the original "good eggs"
With the help of other nations, we help to police the world from mal doers and this is what it is to be BRITISH.

We were needed in Sierra Leone, Malaya, the Falklands, Herzegovina and Afghanistan not to mention Iraq.............so why not keep being "good eggs" and save the demonstrators from the horror of slaughter from the Gaddaffi forces?

The reason being youngma, is the fact that we know our politicians, we moan when they cut the military because we know that very soon they will get involved in someone else's skirmish, and then we will not have enough troops or equipment.

The ideal scenario would be for them to cut military spending down enough to enable us to have enough so as to defend ourselves.

We can no longer afford to police the World.

If Britain had not got involved in all these wars we would have been a rich nation by now. Germany not involved fully in any conflict can sit back and trade with any country we have invaded.

British taxpayers have been paying through the nose to satisfy our Prime Ministers egos.
