As our aircraft are now over Libya, has Afghanistan taken a back seat?

I surely hope it hasn't but with our Armed Forces stretched already the planes have to come from somewhere.

France have been and are involed in Afghanistan. Be it only 1000 troops there still there. (however dont like defending france, surrender monkey etc)
Gadaff,i are just idle threats i think.... A madman backed into a corner. Like Hitler in the closing stages of the WW2. He got crazier, wilder decisions and crazy speeches. "If you dont learn from the past, you end up repeating it"
With all this going on i feel 'boots on the ground' will be needed but how about the Arab states provide it!!!

it will be interesting to see how the americans react when ground forces have to be used will they back the uk or will they back out? the falklands spring to mind here and obama has already stated that france is the united states ''closest ally''.. when the french inevitably back out where will that leave the uk?..cameron has taken this 1 on amid all his defence cuts...interesting times ahead i think...

The latest is that RAF bombers have bombed Libya, by completing the 3,000 miles round trip.
A few weeks ago I was shouted down when I criticised the scrapping of the Ark Royal, why do we need an aircraft carrier was the general response.
If we can make the round trip from England to Libya, could not Gadaffi's jets pay London a visit?
Pity the RAF doesn't try a little bombing in Afghanistan, perhaps then, this would clear that little mess up?

AOG you will probably find that he doesn't have the air to air refueling aircraft that we have to be able to cover the miles involved. OrdsallSi whilst I don't agree with Israeli jets being sent to bomb Palestine, usually but not always you will find Israel have had some form of bomb sent to them first. Whenever they are attacked they will always respond in kind. Not saying I agree with it but that is the way it is.
So, good folk of this country, when your trains, planes and buses get blown up again or your nuclear power stations become a target, remember why.
If I were Lybyan/Arab, I would bring hell to these lands for putting your nose where it does not belong. When are we going to learn to mind our own business?
Gaddafi is a tyrant but with the european dictats being imposed on this country, do we not have a right to rise up? And, if so, how will we feel when another nation intervenes?
