BROADBAND ISSUES
4 Answers
I still have some issues with my broadband connection, any suggestions would be much appreciated.
It will connect and shows its connected but wont download any pages, sometimes i can get to a home page but no further. After many attempts it will suddenly start working for no apparent reason and is fine when it does.I have tried at differing times of day to rule out peak times (inc 6.00 am on a sunday!) I have tried another PC with no difference im waiting for another modem just to make sure thats not the problem but in the mean time any ideas ??
(Im on Orange, over 7 years, and have never had any problems until this started a week or so ago)

Go into your router's settings. With an Orange Livebox that's done by using this address:
http://192.168.1.1/
If you're asked for a username and password, try simply leaving them both blank (unless you remember creating your own). Otherwise try 'admin' for both.
Once you've got into the settings, look for the 'DNS' reference. It's probably set to be 'automatically assigned'. Change that to the option that lets you manually insert the DNS server addresses. Enter the primary address as 195.92.195.94. The secondary address should be 195.92.195.95 .
Changing the DNS settings from 'automatic' to 'manual' can't do any harm and, based upon my experience of dealing with problems similar to your own, it might provide the remedy which you're seeking.

I'm glad that things are currently working normally. If you need to access your router's settings, this is probably the address which you need:
http://10.0.0.138
