Can anyone give me advice on the process, perhaps good websites, realistic time frames to achieve this and good training providers for ECDL Assessors training, i am working for a company and i need to try and get this in place ASAP

Your local LearnDirect centre might be able to help - this is for students but they may know where they recruit or train assessors http://www.learndirec...ills/?CMP=bus_nvq_itq

I didn't realise that this qualification was still on offer - the NHS stopped offering to its staff a couple of years ago.

a little confusion, i need to get accredited so i can teach and be an assessor, i think i have found a course to take with a company called "happy computers" in east london,

Have you tried your local college? They should know what qualifications you require to teach the subject.
