Trying to trace someone who may have moved/died in the past few years
8 Answers
Hello, I've been asked by a relative in America to see if I can find out what has happened to a friend of hers that she hasn't heard from for a couple of years, and she is concerned that she may have died. I have looked on Ancestry and Find my Past and the death records don't cover the past few years. Any help/advice really appreciated. This is the email I have received:
Hi, here is all the information I have I am looking for ELAINE HANWELL last known address the OLD QUEENS HEAD, Dodford, Northampton, I think she rented out rooms to make a living, loved dogs and gardening, age 58 birthday May 8th. Mothers name MYRA BOUILLEMIER last known address 1 Phippsville Court, St. Mathews Parade, Northampton, she lived alone but I haven't been able to reach her there for about two years we used to talk a couple of times a year and the occasional letter, I think she may have passed away or be in a Nursing Home. There was another daughter, I think married with chiuldren living in Northampton. Myra was the sister of Doctor Kelley from Leicester who was our family doctor. I can't think of anything else but call me with any questions. I really appreciate anything you can do, its difficult when you are in a different country, Last I knew Elaine didn't have a drivers license.

You ring previously to book a microfiche to view the slides. Plenty of people will help you. I traced my husbands uncle on this and discovered he had died. I think you may find there are records in other large libraries if you are not near this one. Also the Mormons keep very complete records for some reason, I don't know why. They may be able to help you. There is no charge attached to the library one, but the Mormons may ask for a donation, don't really know about this.
