Smells?

This morning when I got up I walked into the conservatory and the sun was streaming through it was beautiful but Oh Dear! there was an awful smell of cats pee, ( not our cat) evidently it had pee'd up the back door. It got me thinking about Smalls that I disliked and ones I like.

I Dislike - Cat Pee - Drains - Arm-pits - Insulin - Damp - Feet....

I Like - Newly mown grass - Babies - Newly baked breab - Candy floss - Fried bacon - & - Tar.

Used to work near a tannery - smell that and you don't want to live! Thank goodness they closed down. Also hate the smell which comes from breweries it used to make me feel really sick when George's Brewery were using something - I think it might have been malt or maybe hops, don't know much about brewing beer. They have closed down too. Have you noticed that male cats spray and you can't find where they have sprayed so you have to wash the whole damn place out.
Like the smell of fried onions, toast, fresh washing, cinnamon buns.

I remember tanneries but decimalisation put paid to them. :)

A few years ago we had a new conservatory built. We kept getting wet patches so I called the builders back in, They checked everything very thoroughly even crawling around on the floor sniffing . Then the man said to me have you got a cat. God I was so embarrassed.

Sorry, we do not know what the smell of new baked breab is?

We do like the smell of a new dictionary though.

Dislike the smell of whatever vile stuff my husband had for his tea - it absolutely reeks (I am going to have to spray some of that neutraliser stuff).

among the smells i love are chlorine and bleach ... hmmmmmmm... niiice ..... :o)

and among the ones i hate are fags/smoking and body odour ..... eweeeeeegh ..... :o(

Looby. You would have liked it at the hospital today then, while I was waiting for my appt the cleaner came round and chlorine & bleach was what he was using. - Not for me I'm afraid made me feel queezy.

The aftershave the doc was wearing tho was really nice.

Does anyone remember the smell at Aston Cross, Birmingham, late 50s? HP Sauce factory and Ansells Brewery.

Slapshot, I like the smell of Castrol R, too, but to my shame I can barely tell the difference between it and synthetic 2-stroke oils such as Bel-Ray. I know this is anathema to the purists, and that in this year's TT Week I must glue my nose to the roundabout at Quarterbridge* until I know better!

*Just a coupla hundred yards from where I live.
