Answer will live in the water (no amount of letters given)
19. Good and dead a long time
John Dory has already been suggested but I can't see it !
I am trying to think of something ending with ... age or eon but perhaps I am on the wrong track. None of the other answers are particulary obscure. Help needed, this is my last one. xx

Davy Jones' Locker ?
sturgeon?

Evening ontarioice ... good thinking as it does not have to a a fish. Is this a guess or can you tell me how you came up with it ? xx

Hi Trussell ... I have that for another one. I did think whether it was a repeat but I can't fit 'sturg' to Good and dead from the dictionary. xx

Thanks Argee2 ... Yes, it's a shame 'udg' does not mean dead else it fits perfectly. xx

Re: Davy Jones' Locker it just came to mind because it is where all the dead sailors are supposed to be so they'd be dead for a long time down there with Davy Jones.
Postscript for earthakitten.
I may be way out in left field with Davy Jones' Locker but take a read at this:
