Open Office Calc

I have been using OOo (Writer, Calc and Impress) for some time and am perfectly happy with it. Yesterday, I downloaded the latest version (3.3) and now when I open a new Calc spreadsheet I can only see the row and column headers but the main body of the spreadsheet, where I would expect the grid lines to be, is blank. Is there a way of showing the grid lines by default, just as it used to be in previous editions (and, indeed, in Excel and Lotus 1-2-3)?

Don't think that has owt to do with 3.3 which works fine for me.
You haven't by any chance set the view to "Page Break Preview"?
That removes the grid lines and changes the background colour.

Thanks for your reply Rojash. No, I haven't set the view to Page Break Preview, it's on "Normal". (I have just tried to see what happens with Page Break Preview and, as you say, it changes background colour to grey - and it also reduces cell size somewhat. I've changed back to "Normal" and still don't have any grid lines.)
I've uninstalled and reinstalled and still have the problem.
Is there not a checkbox somewhere, as in Lotus 1-2-3, that enables you to toggle between showing and not showing grid lines? I know I can format cells so that gridlines will print but I was after something "global" by default.
