Awful Editorial practice?

It would appear that one cannot post freely on this site anymore as I have just had another perfectly reasonable post removed by what passes around here for an editor. I'm not going to do a flounce, theyre pointless but it's one of the reasons that this site is dying and losing members who contribute intelligently every day. Does anyone else find that the editorial team are really random in the exercise of their powers and seem to want the site to simply be full of non debating drivel with silly polls and pointless questions about what your favourite jam is etc etc etc ad nauseum? I find I post less and less as the site degenerates.

Sorry I don't agree. You are saying that the only people that have a right to report are the people that pose the question. That has never been the case on any forums that I have seen. The remark was offensive. I actually had a thank you on that post from Bigfella who made it very clear he wasn't amused by your comment. I doubt if I was the only one who reported by the way. Others were obviously not amused either. It was in bad taste.

I rarely report actually.

As for your remarks about AB management that has nothing whatsoever to do with me, so why would you be mentioning my name anyway.

One clear up point, I could have named in other posts knocking around on this those who said they were going to report me - I did not.

No DT - anyone has the right to report if they are offended, or feel that the remark can be offensive to others. We've had several people lose close family members in the last few weeks, I would not wish them to be more upset than they already are, by thoughtless jokes or callousness on behalf of others.

There are some subjects you don't joke about DT. Death to the recently bereaved being one of them. We all have a report button for a reason.

No I feel quite strongly about this and you have your opinions, I have mine and I go back, I would get really hacked off if any of you interfered with an unacceptable comment coming my way.

I have hardly reported anybody - one last week though for calling me a tw4t as that is OTT and there's one on that thread that I may have reported if not suspended. Indeed I might just go back and see if it is there still. (thx for the link). Can't remember what the other one was.

Though I have some sympathy with your comments about death - humour is important though. The best funerals etc that I have been to have always involved it. My f-i-laws turned in to a comedy roast at the wake for example......and one of the finest I have ever seen was the wake of one of the Nigerian Olympic delegates.

Each to their own DT - and sometimes a bit of black humour does ease a stressful situation - but you have to be in it to find it a relief. Someone posting on here who is in distress doesn't find light relief from other people's banter.
Why you think that your responses are immune from other people's criticism is open to discussion.

oh I am not annoyed Boo - got better things to get annoyed at than you or anyone here. For example in trying to get a UK Pal account going and that is frustrating me as I do not want to give any right of DD - just to use them as a bridge account.
