I have a theory that all electronic goods made today have a microchip implanted to ensure that they break down just after the guarantee has expired.
My tumble drier guarantee ran out on Wednesday and today it has given up the ghost.
A few years ago there was a documentary about a chap who installed house alarms that contained some electronics that caused the alarm to fail just after the warranty expired.....so it is possible!!

Last week I had a letter from Comet saying that my Siemens fridge was coming to the end of it's 12 month guarantee and trying to flog me an extended warranty.
In the same post was a letter from Siemens reminding me that I now had 12 months left on my 2 year warranty..........
