Further to the meeting of xx March 2011, where the outcome of the investigation regarding your Failure to Notify Charges was communicated to you and following the internal interview you attended on xxt March 2011, I am writing to inform you that you are required to attend a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday 30th March 2011, 2pm, at xxxxxxxxxxx.
At this hearing, the question of disciplinary action against you, in accordance with xxxxx Disciplinary Procedure, will be considered with regards to the two convictions you have recently been issued with which have resulted in your inability to obtain and achieve the appropriate Airside Pass clearances required to fulfil your job of Field Support Engineer, as per your Terms and Conditions of Employment. For your information, this may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
The question is in my first TC's this is not stated, but since this has happened they changed the TC's Jan this year, I have a feeling they are allowed to do this. The 2nd 'Q' if I do get dissmissed on gross misconduct how will this effect me getting another job.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.if so, then any future role you apply for that requires a CRB check and full disclosure would flag up the convictions, plus, if it is a conviction for a crime that involved moral terpitude you can't travel to Las Vegas to watch Garth in concert and that would be my main concern. Are you prepared for the hearing on wednesday and do you have a union rep with you or another wiotness on your behalf?
If the convictions prevent you from doing your job, and given the contractual terms, I am sure they can dismiss you. At best you may be moved to other duties.
If you are dismissed for gross misconduct I'm not sure whether your reference letter will state this but I can't see what else your employer could say in a reference.

Are you saying the Job Centre are responsible for your convictions?
I think you will have to see how your employer deals with this. There is a chance (albeit small, I think) that they will retain you in some capacity. If not, depending on what the convictions are for, you may be able to find an alternative career.
