So the tourists are to be banned from an Amazon village by indigenous people,

Could this be construed as being racist, or even Xenophobic?

How would you like a load of gawpers coming down your street with cameras "Oh no madam don't take your rollers out of your, hair we want realism". Not racist not xenophobic. Sensible more like.
I blame those racist xenophobic people on all the restricted nature reserves in the world!

We should, as tourists, be able to go and trample all over any nature reserve we want, to hell with the wildlife, indigenous population and ecosystems.
Since when have tourists been a race? I don`t blame the indigenous people for wanting to keep people away. Their endangered culture won`t survive for very long if all and sundry tramp through their land. Bit like the Masaai in Kenya. Mind you if you give them a few shillings they let you in but at least the money goes to benefit the whole village and the amount of tourists allowed in is regulated.
