I once asked for some information about campsites in France, Spain etc. Information received was more than I expected. As we have no experience whatsoever, my wife suggested that we should start within UK first.
As I have 5 kids ranging from 2 to 15 I am looking for places to stay that are affordable with family. Then WE DO NOT HAVE a tent (may think once bit more experienced) so want to find places with ready fitted tents or holiday home. Any suggestion please.
I don`t know if any places with fitted tents exist. What about static caravans? Ruda holiday park in Croyde, North Devon is in a great area. There`s a fantastic beach there.
Thanks for your responses so far. If you believe that I have not given enough information then sorry about that. Chris's link is good. As I said my only problem is that I am looking for places where we don't have to have our own tent. I have seen most of Devon and Cornwall as my wife is from Exeter. Now I am planning up North possibly around Lake district or otherwise anywhere.
Hiring is not a bad idea but my problem is not tent. I can even buy a tent but do not want to do that as I am not sure if I would like it. Just want to have taste of the places without bothering about erecting tents etcn as have never done that before.
The thing about camping is, UK campsites are pretty horrible compared to those in France. In your position I think hiring from a company such as Keycamp or Eurocamp would suit you better - you at least know that you'll be somewhere sunny, in a well regulated campsite, with a lovely big swimming pool.
They will come and pitch the tent for you and take it down again if you dont want to do it. Your other option would be somewhere like a Hoseasons holiday camp which have static caravans and lodges to stay in as well as camping.
