Last night the bf was playing Football Manager on his laptop and as I looked over his shoulder I noticed there was a little picture of one of the players on his team. This guy happened to be black. I then noticed the players name above the picture which was the inital of his first name with his surname. The name was A Blackman.

Is it wrong that I thought it was really funny?

OK, that's two people who haven't said it is. That'll do me.

I thought all the players on FM were real?

I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have made that up himself.

Well I couldn't find anything by Googling but Angel-Reborn supplied the name Aaron so he must be real. I think he was playing as Wimbledon so he's hardly going to be a household name.
There are many surnames that seem to have been given/taken specifically due to the colour of the person they were handed to.......

In Northamptonshire there is a black family named 'Licorish'; I have never met a white person with that name....and often wondered if it was 'because'..........

OH! I found him!! Andre Blackman.

I was getting a bit worred Mr Milly might have made it up.

It's more worrying that they have a player called Haydon the Womble....

Oh god, I'm sooooo dumb sometimes. Haydon the Womble is the mascot. lol
You're amusement could be defined as 'racial' but not necessarily 'racist'

To my mind racist and racism are appropriate where there is an inherent assumption of inferiority or negativity about a person or group based on ethnicity. Clearly not the case for you.
