re. Bridge/Camera Raw/Photoshop

Does anyone know how I can stop Camera Raw taking over every bloody picture I try to open in PS (CS5) ?
It seems that any photo you touch with Camera Raw automatically becomes a Camera Raw file - very frustrating.

...alas, it didn't work - only jpegs will now open directly into PS.
RAWs and TIFFs still only open via Camera raw - grrr !

You might need a plug-in. Depends what camera your using.

IS this just a file association problem?

Can you open them in PS using file > open from within PS rather than double clicking them?

AP, in Windows Explorer if you right-click on the file do you not get an 'open with..' option which you can then use to associate a particular program with that file.

CF - nope, they still open in Camera RAW even if accessed from within PS.
If I open a tiff or a raw, it will automatically open in Camera Raw then I can continue to 'open image' then it will open in PS, but it's an inconvenience, especially if the sliders in Camera Raw are not in their default positions.

sort of ..I've become a lot more proactive with interests I'd been neglecting (photography atm) hence why I've not been here very much.
