I'm trying to find the volume icon on a new laptop, they're normally on the bottom right and it's not, even when I un-hide hidden icons. Where else should I look pls ??

Dunno but sometimes mine didappears for no reason and to get it back I have to restart as I can never do it otherwise. I'd be interested to see what answers you get
Im sure it needs a tick in a box to display it but I cant remember where.
The main app for Sounds etc. is found in Control Panel and you may need to check the box which places the volume icon in the taskbar
post the make and a techie will tell you. Mine's in the middle of the top row.
Oh. I am being a plank
Is it not, START, CONTROL PANEL, HARDWARE AND SOUND etc. ?
On my Toshiba the volume control was a little wheel at the front bottom of the keyboard.
Control Panel/Sounds & Audio Devices .. 'place vol control in taskbar'

No little wheel then..................
Which Operating System are you running?
Question Author
Sorry Craft, yes, there's a little wheel, but it doesn't function. The one to brighten the screen does tho, so I know I'm doing it right

How do I find that out Scotsman ?
A new laptop should come with a manual of some sort.
If there isn't one, go to the manufacturer's website, perhaps?
