Made them will plain flour instead of self-raising. They weren't too bad.

That's a better mistake than my mum made. A chocolate sponge made with bisto instead of cocoa powder

Any horror stories regarding cooking?

PS I don't burn anything, I caramelise :D

well... on the other hand I reckon they were if you were eating
My bloke wanted to make rice crispie cakes, he asked how to melt chocolate and I said put in boil over pan of boiling water. He obviously couoldnt work it out so he put a plastic bowl of it in microwave, when I went in kitchen it stank of burnt choc, I opened microwave pulled bowl out and the bottom fell off lol
