It's that time of year again for planting up the garden and filling the decorative tubs with flowers. Does anyone know if the plastic pots that plants are sold in can be recycled? My guess is that most are thrown away in dustbins and probably millions go for landfill in the course of a season. What do you do with yours?
Thank you for your answers. The link given by heathfield is worth bringing to the notice of local authorities, who just might be prepared to come up with a solution.
There is a growing demand for recycling all manner of waste plastic driven by commercial recyclers and of course the price of oil based products which includes plastic, see the website which tries to bring together the gardeners, garden centres and plastic recyclers / processors to build recycling system across the UK.
