along with my black lab Jet, they were very well behaved!
Leah (the lady from whom I had the dog from) was so pleased that her dog had settled in just fine with my gang with no problems.

It was lovely to hear the stories the old folks were telling me as they stroked the doggies. Jet will stand any amount of fuss you want to give him, and a bit more, he'll nudge your hand when you stop!

I forgot to add, all of us can go back anytime - so we must have been good!!
awww you took your new dog to see her previous owner? Did the dog recognise her? What a lovely thing to do.
Hi Mercia, that's lovely.Labs do love a bit of fuss don't they.Lottie does that nudging thing too. How great that Leah got to see and hear about Kiltie. Is she settling into the Nursing Home now. Hope so. Sounds like your Jet should become a PAT dog!
You're a cracking lass, mercia.
That is lovely Mercia. It must make Leah feel so much better to know that Kiltie is fine and has lots of lovely new friends to play with. When my Mum was in a care home I used to take my dogs (I had two then) with me to visit her. It is surprising how elderly people respond so well to dogs. Some of them just changed completely in the dogs' company and started chatting and laughing where they were usually very quiet and serious.

Pets are good for people.

Well done Mercia. Any photos?
Barb. I never do the nudging thing. How dare you!!!

Well besides being adorable, it was one of the reasons I took her so Leah could still have contact with her - they are very good nursing home in the fact that they know just how much pets mean/meant to their owners and as long as you phone them first, they don't mind, they say it makes the old folk feel better, and that can't be bad
^^ what Mrs C said.

going to buy a digital camera at the weekend, so as soon as I've mastered it i'll put some piccies up
Lottie, bet you do....for a bar of chocolate or something you love :) You know my girl is named after you so you must have the same traits....
You are so right -- pets in homes areexcellentfor the residents. Take my JRX once a week to see the dementia residents -- she is brilliant with them and they are wonderful with her. They stroke her and she sits by them, and they seem to become alive again .
Most moving.
Will look forward to seeing the pics, mercia.
