You might need to define whats a democracy 1st cause from what I can see of the USA system its a democracy on paper but a virtual dictatorship in reality, and the main culprit (apart from bushy tail) is the "anything for profit" point of view which exists now!! where the real dictator is money - money - money and %^#$ everything else.

I've lived under a dictatorship (Franco) and it really wasn't too bad. Some things were better then than now.

I don't think Blair or Bush read this site. I'm not too convinced that Bush can read.

Chessman, at the risk of stating the obvious... I had in mind all the innocent Iraqis who have been liberated, but are no longer around to enjoy it.

I also had in mind the words of a Chinese friend of mine who told me that in his home town he never needs to lock his front door or lock up his bicycle and kids roam free in the streets without parents worrying about them. It made me feel kind of jealous.

Trillipse, thanks for elucidating. I'm not after any particular sort of answer, I'm just interested to hear others' points of view. There are some clever people around who think of things I never would.
