Some advice please. We live uoside down (well not literally) Out sitting room kitchen etc is upstairs and bedrooms downstairs. The problem is downstairs is freezing. We have central heating and the required size radiators in the bedrooms but they do have concrete floors (covered in carpet) but they are always so cold. Espacially the main bedroom which is at the front of the house and gets little sun. Any sugestions of the best way to heat it?

We have underfloor heating in the kitchen...it was easy enough to fit. Don't think it's very cheap to buy....it is very cheap to run..

If you feel no appreciable difference after that..........then putting some sort of insulated floor down may be the last option. As this will be more the time-consuming and expensive option, do the TRVs first.

Agree about the TRVs, don't do anything until you have them fitted. Remember that you MUST leave one radiator without one to ensure the system is never fully closed off. Normal practice is to have this as the small one in the bathroom. Also make sure your system is properly balanced.
If that does not work then look at doing something with the floor.

What does make sure your system is properly balanced mean? How doI know?
I lived in a house with concrete floors upstairs and downstairs. We had warm air heating & it was warm all over the house no probs.
