No power icon in task bar (win7)

I have a compaq laptop (win7) about 6month old. Allways worked properly, no problems.
recently i have noticed that my power icon in my task bar has disapeared. i have been on loads of forums and tryed everything, i have anti virus and scaned numerous times to see if there is any viruses, but nothing, i have also tryed restarting my explorer.exe and have rstarted my battry drivers too. any advice?
