ANOTHER OLD MOVIE

Ok, heres another old film I am looking for and if anyone can answer this one I will really be amazed. I no its not the 1940's Blue bird because I just got that after being given the answer, thank you and it bought back wonderful memories. All I can remember of this particular film I'm after is that there is a scene where I think 2 children are shown a baby, and being told that he is their brother who will be born soon, the man telling them this also says that each child born brings a gift with them and he places I think a little wooden box with this babys gift inside it, beside the baby. The children are intrigued and ask him what his gift is, they discover that its an illness that will kill the baby while its still young, the man explains that everything is a gift. This scene I think is in black and white, I no its not much to go on but I really hope someone out there knows the film, thank you.
