. . . and I didn't even have to take the Ferrero Rocher!
Yes, in McDonald's on the Strand (near Trafalgar Square) I spotted a prominent sign which advised me of the name of the company's 'Hospitality Ambassador'.
Is that, I wonder, the same thing as a good old-fashioned 'Branch Manager' or is it because McDonald's is now so big that it's become an independent republic (with every branch being re-designated as an Embassy or Consulate)?

On the subject of McDonalds, I saw someone on ebay was selling cards that offered the bearer free McDonalds meals, and had been issued for contractors a long time ago. I contact McDonalds by email to ask if they knew about this and if the cards were valid. Thought no more about it. About two weeks plus later I received a pompous email saying that these cards were invalid. No thanks, no interest at all really. Waste of time to try and help them.
Hi Grasscarp:
That sounds a bit like the response which I got from our local Co-op when I wrote to point out that there wasn't much point in sending me a mailshot advertising various special offers (which I might have been interested in) if the mailshot didn't land on my doormat until a few hours after the offers expired!
