I can`t understand why people are so upset about filling in a once in every decade form. Have you seen the adverts on the side of this website for example? Have you googled something and seen the ads following you about? Have you sent a donation to a charity and filled out their form with your name and address? What assurances did you get that you wouldn`t hear anything more? None! At least the census is government approved and legal. I can`t see what the problem is.
237SJ - So you have missed all the stories in the press about the government loss of data ...disks being posted ...laptops on trains etc ...then you have the hackers ....
Maybe some people don't like the idea of all this data at risk of being published on the web.
I have a friend who is a policeman and does not like the idea of some of the people he has got banged up knowing where he lives and he has kids and a wife that works.
Easy when on the web ....
Look up all the policemen with his name on the census form ...get his address ...know where his wife works ...how she gets to work ...

Haven't filled it in, won't fill it in, never have filled one in, might get fined, never have before, if I do I do, no-one should be obliged to answer personal questions they don't want to, and they'll have to get through the gates first, then past the dogs, then realise I don't have a doorbell or a letter box on the house mwahahahaha. I expect they'll give up after a few attempts, shelve it ( like the have previously- after all it's SOOOOO important we all fill them in, the simply couldn't be ar5sed last time to even summons me to court) and forget about it like they have in previous years.
Remember all the fuss and bother with the Poll Tax? I lost my demand but paid it because I thought I could remember how much it was. A couple of months later when all the court cases were being sent out I received one. I had been taken to court for two pence and fined £20 costs. I rang up in a right tizzy and they did actually back off and remove the fine. They also sent me a letter of apology at my loud demand. But honestly - can you credit it? It had gone all through innumerable clerks on it's way to the court and no-one had noticed it was for two pence.
