why was that response removed - it was me and it just pointed out a few home truths about homosexuality within the Catholic Church and the imbalance of views that their bretheren hold when their priests (some of them and I was careful to say a minority) happily indulge in minors.

so gay people are committing a sin because it says so in the bible but look at all the other sins in the bible adultry for instance but you don't get these religions blaming world disasters on all the people who have committed adultry . the list goes on what it seen as a sin in the bible. but also if i recall somewhere in the bible it says we should not judge people don't ask me where though. and he who is without sin cast the first stone the bible says somewhere .

Regardless, I'd still like to hear rov's answer as someone who evidently believes that biblical authority is significant enough to provide backing for his judgement on a whole section of the population.

Seeing as rov's been online since I asked him (2 days ago), I guess an answer isn't forthcoming. Can't say I'm surprised, but I am pretty disappointed.

Rov: You evidently have the guts to come onto a public website and casually pass judgement on millions of people right in front of their faces, but you don't seem terribly willing to explain your basis or evidence for it when someone challenges you. I would ask you why, but I don't think you'll answer me, so in lieu of a response I'm going to assume it's because your convictions are not strong enough to withstand questioning.

Kromo - People like rov use the Bible as their trump card.......it's the word of God and you can't get much more authoritative than that !!

The fact that you have to disregard 9/10s of it in order to make your argument fit is a mere detail as far as the numpties are concerned.

I'd like to think that trotting out the 'it's in the bible' chestnut ought to attract some sort of Rule in discussion forums, in the same way that crow-barring in references to Nazi's allows the use of Godwin's Law. :o)
