I thought with the hard winter we had there would be less of those nasty stingey angry things but for the last 3 weeks, we've been inundated. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed a lot of them about lately?!

I think we must have a nest nearby then. I was hoping that it was everyone!!! Damn.....
I've not seen one yet this year.

Perhaps you should stop dressing in yellow & black
Only seen one so far - and of course it just had to come in through the open window of the car I was driving!
there have been a lot of them about BM, they have been bringing in foreign ones due to losing a lot of bee's and wasps to that mysterious disease that has been wiping them out. I am not impressed

Why does everyone seem to hate wasps ?
You are far more likely to be stung by flailing your arms around, trying to swat them, than by just leaving them alone. They soon fly away.

My worst experience was when one landed on my top lip and started to crawl up my left nostril. I knew trying to brush it away would probably lead to my being stung, so I kept trying to snort it out. Eventually, it flew away.

I have never been stung by a wasp and only ever once by a bee - when I tried to pick one up when I was about 8
you would think they could come up with good ways of pollonating plants in this day and age without using wasps and bee's :(
We've got loads of them - they seem to think that they have some right of way through the house. There are loads of queen wasps knocking around here too.

I love the bees and we do seem to have loads of them. I do hate wasps though. They sting you for no particular reason other than because they can. (I know, this has happened to me - didn't even know there was anything on the back of my neck until the little so and so stung me).

There are 4 of them in my polytunnel at the moment. Not impressed.
I had a wasp in my living room on Saturday but I managed to catch it between some paper and a glass and then fling it out in to the garden.
You are not alone Barmaid,I have had three in my kitchen this morning.I managed to open the window and get rid of them that way.You can have the door open but they will not entertain the way they entered lol.
