Keeping the silver in your necklaces
6 Answers
I have quite a few necklaces that were silver (not real, couldnt afford it! I mean brough from a high street shop) and over time they are now more gold/rusty colour. Is there any way to renew the silver? Or is it a necklace ruined?

If it was real silver plated then it could be they are just tarnished and they could be cleaned. You can get silver cleaning fluid. If the silver has worn off then they can be replated, you'd need to see a jeweller or I think you can get kits online. if it wasn't real silver in the first place then they probably want chucking out.

If they are your favourites, is it possible to replace the tarnished bits? What I mean is, you can buy silver chain or beads, and the fastenings are called 'findings' you might find beads you like too - and then have a new hobby!
You can google bead shops, here's one

put 'silver chain' in the search box if that's what you need, good luck!
