bought a living herb chive plant last friday and wilting fast, any ideas how i can use it up, only used a bit to add to fresh tuna on griddle the other night. dont want to make chive sauce or dip so cant think what else!

put it in a freezer bag and freeze it until needed.

do i need to dry it first?
Shame they haven't lasted long, have you given the a little watering? They might perk up.

Otherwise use in salads, sandwishes or on scrambled eggs, anything where you'd enjoy a very slight oniony taste.
no,make sure its clean,snip it with scissors to the length you want into a bag,job done;
I don't mean to sound cheeky but have you watered the chives? I have lots of herbs which all tend to wilt but come back quickly when watered.

yes have watered it twice but it seems to be dying off or will it just last for ages until i eat it?
Pot it up in a bigger pot and put it out side on door step. It will continue to grow healthily for ages. It will die back in winter but will then restart growth again as weather warms up. I bought a chive plant from a supermarket a few years ago - it's still aive.

Pot your chives on into a bigger pot with some decent soil and it will go on literally for years. Water fairly often though please/
