They must also state the name of the organisation running the raffle, together with the name and address of the promoter. There should also be a statement indicating which council the organisation has obtained a licence from to permit them to run the raffle. The price of each ticket should be shown and tickets must all be sold for the same price. (i.e. "25p each or 5 for 1" is illegal).
Many councils have guidance about the conduct of lotteries on their websites. This, for example, is from East Riding Council:

As usual, Buenchico is more or less right in his repsonse. However, his response is only in respect of Societies Lotteries under Section 5 of the Act. A raffle, other wise known as a lottery or draw is any distribution of prizes by lot or chance. There are several which can be carried out mmore simply. A Small Lottery (Section 3) can be held at a charitable event. Tickets can only be sold and the prize must be drawn at the event so no date is required on the ticket. A Private Lottery (Section 4) can also be held amongst people who all belong to an organisation, or live or work in the same premises. These must indicate when the prizes are to be drawn either on the ticket or on any advert on the premises. The law is a little difficult to understand and subject to change under the Gambling Act over the next 18 months.
