Flying the nest...not when you have it this good.

I've just read about a guy in his twenties who lives at home and has his Mum do pretty much everything for him. She waits on him hand and foot. She starts every morning by running him a bath. She also helps him clean behind his ears and, wait for it, squeezes his spots!!! What do your parents still do for you even though you're now in your adult years? I have to admit I still use my Mum like a taxi over the weekend.

Squeezing spots ...bleugh .
The only time I ran them a bath was when they were unable to do it themselves :)
My parents are long gone and taught me stand on my own two feet !
My Mum never washed and ironed for me as I got older .More like I washed and ironed for them :)
But my Dad was very ill when I was only in my late teens and was looked after at home by me and my Mum .Good job I wasn't spoilt and can cope in life which lately I have had to do big time .

I'm 26 and still live with my mum (and younger brother). I also work with her part-time and my dad full-time. My mum doesn't "look after" me at all; we're all adults and work full-time. I do the majority of the housework, though, as she's away most weekends... and I'm a bit of a Monica. :) She'll ask me to text her if I'm doing a long journey, but then I'd ask her to do the same. I still go to them for the advice sort of stuff, though. I have a brilliant relationship with them both, so I'm really lucky. We do all tell my mum off a bit, as she still does far too much for 18 year old brother.
I am so careful not to interfere with my son and his partner. Perhaps over careful.
I have to admit that once I left home, I left home properly and didn't get any help from Mum or Dad (except a bit financially, but always repaid). I wouldn't have expected anything either. They had their own lives to lead. Neither did I get much help when I had my child. Some kids never stop using their parents. But I suppose it's the fault of the parents.
