I work 33.5 hours a week, days off Sunday and Monday. Our holidays are worked out hourly. My colleagues and myself are confused about how they are worked out as we have different allowances. Can anyone help me before I ask the boss?

Your statutory annual paid holiday entitlement should be 5.6 times the number of days (or, in your case, hours) that you work each week.

33.5 hours x 5.6 = 187.6 hours
(That includes all 'enforced holidays', when the firm is closed for business, such as public holidays, if appropriate).

thats what I worked it to, but Ive been given 173 (I think, my list is at work) and we are closed bank holidays. My mate has even less.
Is the total of 173 hours excluding bank holidays ? If there are a couple of bank holidays, when you won't be at work but you'll still be getting paid, that would be about right.

Most bank holidays are on Mondays but you'd normally be at work on Friday 22nd April, Friday 29th April (if your employer is closing the business for the Royal Wedding) and Tuesday 27th December. So the sums might be right if you've only been quoted the number of hours that are left after 'fixing' part of your holiday entitlement.

If you friend normally works on Mondays, he/she will have far more 'fixed holidays', so the number of hours remaining for his/her holiday entitlement will be far fewer than yours.

if you are off only Sunday and Monday anyway then surely you would only have the bank holidays off that you would have worked which would be Good Friday, the wedding, and Tues 27th,

so with bank holiday wedding 33.5 x 5.8 = 194.3 and a day is 6.7hrs so less the three days bank holiday would be 174.2

now if you arent getting bank holiday the 33.5 x 5.6 = 187.6 less bank holidays is 167.5
