My friend found a lump under her armpit at the top. No lumps anywhere else. She's going to the doctor on Wednesday. At first a thick white pus like fluid came out. Now when she squeezes she gets a yellowy blood stained fluid. What's it likely to be? Don't think tumours leak fluid do they?

Sebaceous cyst.....no big deal.

Tumours MAY leak fluid.....but only in s very advanced stage..very advanced and this is not the case with your friend.
Hi crunchiesmum, I had the same thing. It is, as Sqad said, a sebaceous cyst. I left mine for ages before going to my doc who kept giving me antibiotics for around 4 months until they decided it had gone too far and I had to have it operated on so tell her to get to the docs and not to leave it.

Hope she gets on ok :)
I've had 3 of these.............and she shouldn't squeeze it.
If they were under your armpits Craft - are you sure 2 of them weren't your boobs?
Actually mrs_o they were in the groin area :-(
ouch!
Yuk, I had one too, a massive one, but it was on my pubic mound....it will go in time...
I also get these occasionally.... Why shouldn't they be squeezed though?
Something about it going back into your blood stream..................anyway the doctor said it was a big no no............
CD...I can't see any reason not to squeeze them.

Infection? unlikely

Back into the blood stream?.....b@lls.
Think I'll just have some dry cream crackers for tea tonight. :)
Sqad, mine ended up being infected which is why they had to operate...it was my own stupid fault for waiting for so long to get it seen though! lol
Well if that's your professional opinion of my GP sqad I'm sure you must be right.
craft...no....that is not my professional opinion of your GP.....that is my professional opinion of your GP's comment.

Different things.
Oh aye... I don't get them that often but when I do I'm a squeezer... Same with spots... I hate anything nasty like that and I want them out and done with and always thought getting rid of the 'poison' bit was the best way of doing that and then applying a sudocrem or similar cream.... I've never spoken to my GP particularly about it, figured that since I have PCOS, I'm probably just a cysty type person if such a thing exists!

Can I just say this is a lovely conversation for before dinner on a sunday, I'm glad I've involved myself ;0)

Thanks all of you. That's put her mind at rest. She says it's gone down a lot since she first found it yesterday. She definitely falls on the squeezing side of the fence.
