I'm so excited.

I have two families of Blue Tits using my new bird houses.
Only had one family last year using an old box that had been up for about 4 years. So my partners dad built three lovely new houses ( would give barratts a run for their money!) didn't think they would be used so quickly, now I see two families using them.
Yay!

We do have our resident Mr & Mrs Blackbird, they are here all year round and the male is so tame. When I go out and do the weeding in our garden he is always there right by me searching for worms as I dig. So lovely.
They had two clutches last year and raised 5 lovely babies.
I just love birds!

If you want to help them along even more Icemaiden, you could buy some live meal worms for a few weeks while the parents are feeding the babies. They're not smelly and I keep mine in the fridge and the birds absolutely love them. If you have all three houses taken you have to have enough land with grubs and stuff to sustain all of them. How fantastic, wish I'd got more room.
Ice, I have heard of several people who have resident Black Birds, and I'm so jelouse (spelt wrong). A chap in our village has a female who has been visiting for 7 years and now comes into the kitchen to be fed!!!!!!!!! Best songsters ever.
We get lots of Wrens round here, a lovely, very under rated bird.
I JUST LOVE EM TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

How wonderful, I LOVE bird watching but unfortunately we have a plethora of cats in our neighbourhood who will torture and kill any bird they can get. One last year brought a swift into my garden and left the poor dead bird there....felt so sad for the babies who were probably orphaned through this cruel (but natural I know) act.
I hope you enjoy watching your broods, they will certainly give you much joy whilst you watch them. Love the thought of the "better than Barratts" bird houses lol...perhaps he should go into business and sell them as superior bird dwellings lol.

hi Everyone.
Just got back from a weeks holiday, haven't had a chance to take photo's but as soon as I do I will post them on here. My partner is the photographer so I will get him to try and take some.
I have bought some live mealworms now (I normally buy the dried ones and then soak them, Mr And Mrs Blackbird loves them!).
I have only ever seen one wren in our garden, I wish we had more.
