Pipes rumbling
What could it be? Has something broken? Do I need to get someone in? Help!

If your water pipes sometimes make a loud "hammering noise" after the toilet has been flushed or sink, etc. Ask at the hardware store for something for "waterhammer". It's a fitting or somesuch thing which is easily installed in the line. A common problem and not very expensive. - -
Ref 'hammering water pipes'. This is caused by a pressure build up of water in the pipes. The simplest solution is to turn down your water pressure at the stop-**** -- (:)
Don't panic - it sounds like something our toilet was doing - a really awful noise after you flushed that sounded like a very bad trumpet! My hubby fixed it quite easily by replacing a little plastic bit (sorry not much help as I can't remember what it was called and he's not here) anyway ask at a diy store as they were the ones that helped us
