It's not my idea of reaching the 'peak'...
23 Answers
Due to my new-found enthusiasm for sport & exercise (yeah, right - it's for needs must, not pure enjoyment) the BF thought it a good idea to take me (dragging & screaming) to the Peak District this weekend for some 'healthy invigorating hill-walking'.
I am from Lincolnshire - I don't do hills. Slight inclines maybe, now I am so mega fit, but not fells & hills.
However, I have to go as penance for a rather super shopping day in Cambridge the day before and lots of indulgences, nice food & copious amounts of fluid, i.e. wine.
Anyone any suggestions where I can get a decent walk in (about 5 miles) which is not too taxing & will not have me on the point of a coronary or shoving the BF off the nearest tor point? I'm thinking the Ashbourne, Matlock, Bakewell area. With good pubs in the vicinity. And a good signal for calls to the emergency services.... ;-)

Even walking in the park only excites me if I can spot a handy bench where I sit & do my favorite thing observe people ( especially kids, I love to watch their antics) mind you I am 86 & I come complete with arthritic knees & tired feet. I must say Ron, you're looking & sounding good for a man of such mature years! 86? Really? Respect to you x My dad is 82 and has 2 gardening jobs & still keeps himself active. He loves the fresh air & exercise (and time away from my mother!), but he can't walk for far without his back hurting. He has had 2 knee replacements but amazes me with how 'young' he acts & looks for his age.
