At 13 she seems to have everything which money can provide, and perhaps it's not too early for her to realise her good fortune and start understanding that there are a lot of deserving people who are less fortunate than herself. it rather worries me when parents give endlessly to their children just because they have the money available. . I fear that they will grow up expecting the world will owe them a living rather than encouraging them to strive for things. If you don't want to go the Oxfam gift route, perhaps you could pay for her to sponsor a wild animal or rescued in a sanctuary.
is there anything else you wish to brag about DONNAKEBABUK? I have read lots of your threads and always agreed with your comments but after reading about how much money you spend on your daughter made her sound like a spoilt brat. I am not for one minute saying she is but personally I think that is way way too much to spend on children no matter how much money you have. It teaches them no value of things and they will expect to live the same lavish lifestyle when they are grown up and have their own house and unless you buy her a big house and pay the mortgage and bills for her then that is probably unlikely. I am not saying all this for an argument but just ask you to re read your comments and maybe you will see where I am coming from.
I was going to argue that kids should have whatever their parents can afford, so buy buy buy if you have the money, but then thought about the children who have nothing, and would be grateful for a glass of safe fresh water to drink. Make a compromise and buy her presents but educate her about these people and ask if she would like to help someone less fortunate.
I don't give to charity.
Just look at what happened when we had our eathquakes this year ! Did you see anyone having a relieif fund for us ?
On a serious note ...
I dont give to charity. I also dont have a guilt chip for it either.
Why ruin your childs birthday , by making her feel guilty for what you have.
