Electric charges
4 Answers
Hi,
I am all electric in this flat, so have no choice on heating.Heating is via Storage heaters that were happy with as we back them up with some panel heaters when we need extra heating.
I checked my last bill and note our usage on the day rate, is almost identical to the night rate.
To compensate for the cheaper night rates, the day rate is more expensive.
These being pretty equal does anyone know if it wouldn't be as cheap to have it all at the regular day rate charges.
I don't have the water heater on as its too expensive for me.
Any help gratefully received. DD

Your storage heaters will be on all night at night rate, but you are probably using less electricity at higher cost during the day. This would make the two costs near identical. If you're using more at night than during the day it would be a mistake to change to 24 hours at the day rate.
Sorry for not getting back to you.
I've only just worked out how to find previous posts.
Yes the heaters only heat at night on the Economy 7 rate.
What I meant was the amount of units used during the day are almost identical to the night rate.
I am with e-on and have rung them with this question but they seem to think I am on the best rate but I can't see that I am.
