Is this old age creeping up.? ................................ For weeks now my husband

has had a painful foot. When he walks it hurts ,just on the top and side of foot. Doctor didnt know so gave him some gel to rub on it. He has now come out in tiny red dot spots ehre he has been putting gel on. Now these past few days he has had a painful arm.! From top of arm to elbow.? It even hurts to lift up, says it feels heavy. Why he dosent know yet again.! he hasnt done anything to it.!!

Get him to go back to the doctor - it's not necessarily old age, He may be allergic to the gel. Is he by any chance on a statin for cholesterol? That can cause muscle ache (it did for me).

Are you on any medication? as boxtops suggests. I agree that the "gel" doesn't seem to be the best option. Unless there is a contraindication, I would have thought that Ibuprofen would have been a better option.

Hi many thanks for all your replies. He is only on Finasteride tablets and the gel was ibuprofen sorry I should have said.he is also 62 ( but dont tell him I told you) haha.

I would replace the Ibuprofen Gel with Ibuprofen 400mgm tablets and monitor the situation for 4or 5 days.

OK Sqad,just wondering they wouldnt be contected would they.? The arm is his left, which worried me.But he insists it feels like a muscle but hasnt done anything to make it hurt.

lilac.....I think that it is very likely that the foot problem and the arm pain are the same inflammatory process that is going on............a sort of "arthritis"
It may well be just wear and tear (old age), but give it 4 or 5 days to see what transpires.
