Light fitting transformer burning

I bought a new light fitting for my living room, and the transformer in it started burning at the exit point of one of the wires. It is about 10 months old. Can anyone explain why?

Could bea few reasons why. Loose connection, transformer getting too hot, not enough ventilation around the transformer, poor quality, faulty transformer.
